Fun Camp Information:
Back by popular demand!
Camp Westminster's 2011 Fun Camp will run six weeks this summer, from June 13 to July 22, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Camp is open for kids ages 5 to 14. Lunch is included daily! At Camp Westminster's Fun Camp your child will participate in a variety of sports, games, and enrichment activities such as Swimming, Kickball, Field Hockey, Capture-the-Flag, Mini Olympics, Traditional Camp Games, Relays, Storytelling, Nature Hikes, Fossil Digs, Catching Ocean Life (Catching Critters), Computers, Arts and Crafts, Camp vs. Camp, the Sloperoo and much more! Campers go on weekly field trips that are included in tuition.
Field trips this summer may include the following:

Splash and Play
Deering Estate ‘Catching Critters'
Deering Estate ‘Fossil Digs'
Ice Skating
Bouncing Around Party Town

Half Day Fun Camp
Half-Day Fun Camp is available from 12 - 3 p.m. (including lunch) for campers attending other half-day camps. This is a great option for your camper to stay all day at Camp Westminster. After they finish the half day sports program they can join the Fun Camp for Lunch, games, and activities! Some of the games & activities will include swimming, dodge ball, kickball, water wars and much more.
Warrior Football Camp
Come learn the drills and skills done by high school, college, and NFL players. Attend Warrior Football Camp and enhance your game, both mentally and physically. All positions will be taught, including kicking and punting. Groups will be age-related. This camp is for elementary and middle school aged students. Bring sunscreen and a water bottle.
Warrior Basketball Camp
The Westminster Christian Basketball Coaches offer half-day basketball camp for girls & boys ages 7 to 16. Your child will receive quality instruction in all phases of the game, including individual skill development, team concepts, sportsmanship and self-confidence in a positive and fun atmosphere. Whether your child is a beginner or an established player, your child will benefit from attending Warrior Basketball Camp.
Warrior Volleyball Camp
Join Westminster's volleyball coaching staff for three weeks of volleyball camp this summer! Warrior Volleyball Camp offers a fun, competitive, volleyball environment, where the main focus is building strong fundamentals under positive instruction. Individual skill-work that is taught includes: passing, setting, serving, hitting, defense and blocking, game situations and daily competitions, 6 v 6 play and more!
No prior experience is necessary for this camp. Athletes will be divided by age and talent level to ensure each player is receiving the best experience possible. Please register your athlete in the grade they will be attending for Fall 2011.
WEEK 1 Dates: Monday, June 13 - Thursday, June 16
Ages/Times: 1st-5th grades, 9 a.m.-12 p.m.; 6th-8th grades, 1 p.m.-4 p.m.; 9th-12th grades, 5 p.m.-8 p.m.

Warrior Indoor Soccer Camp
While at the Warrior Indoor Soccer Camp your soccer players' skills will strengthen, leaving him/her with a strong soccer foundation that they need to become a more confident player. Our goal is to encourage and instruct in a positive, safe, and fun-filled atmosphere. Appropriate for all skill levels.
Warrior Baseball Camp
Warrior Baseball camp will be run by George Fabergas and Emil Castellianos. They both have been running baseball camps here at Westminster for the past 8 years. The goal of Warrior Baseball Camp is to see every camper improve their baseball skills by the end of the week. Each ballplayer will receive quality, hands-on instruction in a pressure-less, fun-filled environment.
Prizes are given at awards ceremonies throughout each day, as well as at the week's end. Each camper will receive a free T-Shirt.
Lunch is included for all full-day campers. Any food allergies need to be reported to the camp directors prior to the start of the camp.

Reading and Math Blast
Your child will BLAST forward as they are led in exciting and fun hands-on Reading and Math activities. Unlike the traditional classroom, this program uses NO workbooks, but rather builds and enforces skills through interactive sensory learning games and activities. Hands-on Math activities and games encourage students to interact with the world of numbers, thus gain a better understanding of math concepts. Daily literature activities are incorporated for the development of comprehension, improved reading skills, and development of vocabulary. Students are engulfed in fun and interactive literature activities that foster Reading and Math skills.
Class size is limited. This program is available for campers entering kindergarten through 2nd grade, and runs in conjunction with Camp Westminster's FUN camp.
Summer Strings Camp
(Grades 4 - 12 with one year or more experience)
Here's a one-of-a kind Strings Camp where you will advance in your musicianship while having the time of your life! Summer Strings Camp offers a wide range of music-centered activities with never a dull moment! A typical camp day begins with a culinary lesson and gourmet breakfast! You will receive quality, individualized music instruction and performance opportunities. Plus, there's alot more! We'll listen to great compositions used in popular movies and television shows that move the story line. We'll turn our ears to the melodies in video games while moving the controller! There will be time for indoor and outdoor sports like table tennis and swimming! We will take a special field trip to enjoy South Florida arts. There will even be weekly prizes and a GRAND PRIZE for the most improved players. Last year's grand prize was an antique violin! Could you be this year's grand prize winner?
Cost includes:

Art & Science Camp

Camp Del Mundo - The Art & Science Camp That Travels the World!
June 6 - 10, 2011 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
All incoming Kindergarten through outgoing 5th grade students (entering 6th grade in the Fall) are invited to join us on an imaginative adventure spanning seven continents and four oceans! Our daily travel plans will include amazing art projects inspired by the natural and man-made treasures from each region, multi-cultural games, snacks (yummy-not scary) from each area of the globe, crazy continent songs, and science explorations of the animals and natural wonders of the world! You will love developing your art skills as you paint, mold, sculpt, draw, sketch, and create beautiful ceramic pieces that will forever remind you of what you learned at camp. Be ready to come home with a daily postcard from your scientific journey with Mr. Heetderks as you construct your very own Eiffel Tower, try to lift a giant armadillo from Brazil, or dissect a fish from Japan.
The weekly fee is $295 and includes all materials, kiln firing fees, daily snacks, and all the fun you can find in the far corners of the earth! You can also have the option for us to feed your child a good, hot lunch every day for an additional $25.
Starting April 18, non-WCS students may also register online for this camp.

Summer Booster Workshop
This workshop is designed as a booster in reading, writing, and math for students entering grades 3-5. It will enable students to maintain their academic skills sharp plus give them a sneak peek into the next grade. This program is available for campers entering 3rd through 5th grade, and runs in conjunction with Camp Westminster's FUN camp.
Summer Reading Book Club
The book club will cover summer reading selections for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades through extension activities, discussions, and dramatizations to develop understanding of the story. This club will help the students meet the requirements for their summer reading. The club will start at 12:30 p.m. and end at 3 p.m.
A minimum of 10 students is required per grade for the club.
Warrior Cheerleading Camp
The coaches pride themselves on giving personal attention to all cheerleaders to help them in achieving their personal best. This camp will promote individual growth as well as teamwork. Every camper can expect a safe, interactive and fun experience. Instruction from the coaches will focus on: cheers, chants, jumps, stunts and dance. No prior experience is necessary to attend this camp. Girls of all levels are welcome! Campers must be dressed in t-shirts, shorts and tennis shoes.
