Drama I is a beginning level course, open to students in grades 9-12, which teaches the basics of stage terminology, and familiarizes students with the skills of pantomime, monologue, Reader's Theater, and duet acting. Students culminate their semester in a showcase featuring skills they have learned in this entry-level course.
Drama II
Drama II is an intermediate drama course, open to students in grades 10-12, which expands upon skills learned in Drama I. Students also learn skills of improvisation, auditioning and stagecraft. All students culminate their semester in the participation and performance of a one-act play.
Honors Drama
Students enrolled in this class were auditioned and have previously taken drama courses. Each semester the students present a full length play. In the past few years some of these plays have been The SecretGarden, John Lennon and Me, The Importance of Being Earnest and You Can’t Take It With You. In addition, these students represent WCS at local and state theatre festivals through one act presentations and a variety of individual events. In 2008, our duet acting scene was selected as Best in State.
