Photo Journalism is a one-semester course for students in grades 10-12. This course includes academic class work, lab, fieldtrips, editorial experiences and entering contests. Students learn to shoot, develop, process, select, and print their own black and white photographs with an emphasis on photography as communication and art. Digital photography and PhotoShop imaging are also introduced. Students are recommended to have their own Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera, but may use a school camera with a $300 security deposit (refundable at the end of semester if no damages are incurred.)
