Introduction to Theatre
Introduction to Theatre is a beginning level course, open to students in grades 6-8, and teaches the basics of stage terminology, introductions to theatre history, technical theatre, monologues, and duet acting. This course is designed to prepare the student for more advanced classes in drama and theatre.

Introduction to Acting
Introduction to Acting is an intermediate drama course, open to students in grades 6-8, which expands upon skills learned in Introduction to Theatre. Students will study a history of acting technique starting from the Greeks and moving into contemporary theatre. Students will sharpen their acting skills by working with monologues, in duets, and full scenes. This course is designed to prepare the student for acting at the high school level or at a more advanced middle school level in King’s Players.

King’s Players
King’s Players is comprised of a select group of auditioned students in grades 7-8 who experience the highest level of acting instruction within the middle school. Each semester the group will prepare and perform in several chapels. These students receive instruction in acting technique, playwriting, and performance. This course is designed to push the students’ abilities beyond what they have learned in previous courses. A full range of creativity is demanded of every student. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to perform at an above average level within the high school.
