Pancakes-and-Syrup Pump Up Participation for Pancakes!
The Preschool is in the lead to earn a delicious Pancake Breakfast from Mrs. Jenn Thompson, ES Principal. On their heels is the Fifth Grade, and First Grade, in second and third place, respectively. She has challenged the elementary grades to support the Annual Fund, and the grade to achieve the highest parent participation will get a pancake breakfast!

The HS Marine Science class studies the major marine environments, and then ends the semester by going to see the organisms directly in their environment.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Tournament
The HS kicks-off its Fourth Annual Rock, Paper, Scissors (RPS) Tourney with more than 60 signed up to compete. This event will raise more than $300 for needy families at Thanksgiving.

Well, the dust has settled and the halls are cleaned up, and Westminster has experienced another successful Homecoming Week. Win the football game...check! Seniors win powder puff...check! A great dinner and dance...check! All in all it was a great week including loads of class and school spirit.

While I am one of those people that says, "No celebrating Christmas until Thanksgiving is over," I must break my own rule for a great cause. This year, Westminster's HS will once again team with Le Jardin in Homestead to provide Christmas for approximately 250-300 students.

Middle School Hosts Westminster Grandparents
The Middle School campus will be honoring and giving thanks for their grandparents on Tues., Nov. 24, on Grandparents Day. Middle School Grandparents are invited to enjoy a continental breakfast at 9:00 am, followed by a short program in the Guarch Family Auditorium.

Veteran's Day 0910 Westminster Students Honor our Veterans
In honor of Veteran's Day, students presented a skit that depicted the realities of war and the sacrifices made by many American families. The skit is based on the story of Commander M.J. Klein and Jacqueline Klein, as told in the book "For Those Who Love Time is Not," by alumni parent and grandparent Mrs. Kay Brigham.

Fall Pictures 345 ES Takes Technology Outdoors
The PK3 through third grade students took their MacBooks (laptops) to the Discovery Barn and Chickee Hut to practice using the Mac program, "Photo Booth."

If you'd walked into the ES library on November 5, it might have looked like a party! It was-a party celebrating ART! Students were able to demonstrate their newly honed art skills by teaching their siblings and parents about what has been happening this year in Art class.

Students in Kindergarten through fourth grade experienced what it is like to begin with a blank page and create a wonderful story when author Andrew Toffoli visited the Elementary campus. After reading his book, "George WashingTON," he showed students how to illustrate and create characters on a page.

Sneetches, Superheroes, Pirates, and Inventors were the name of the day at the annual Book Character Parade on November 6. Several hundred parents cheered as book characters walked down Literature Lane in the Gym.

Indian TeePee 014 Fall Fun in PreK4
The PreK4 classes are having a lot of fun learning about the fall season. In October, each class had a Pumpkin Math Day where they learned to measure, weigh, and graph pumpkins. The children also decorated, carved pumpkins and had yummy pumpkin snacks.

Lincoln Laureate Award - Jon Vander Woude Jon Vander Woude, Class of 2006, Named Lincoln Laureate
Jon Vander Woude, WCS Class of '06, was named Trinity Christian College's Lincoln Academy Student Laureate for 2009. Vander Woude was chosen to receive this award for his excellence in academic and extracurricular activities, Trinity's highest individual honor.

Stockings For The Troops Camera Oct 09 008 Stockings for the Troops
As a tribute to soldiers in honor of Veteran's Day, students packed Christmas stockings with donated supplies including toothbrushes, calling cards, CDs, books and candy. Westminster families from all campuses donated the items in honor of our troops. The stockings will be shipped to active duty relatives of the WCS family and to the American airbase in Balad, Iraq.

Cancer Run Warriors Support Kids4Cancer Run/Walk
Along with hundreds of others from the community, a number of Westminster families participated on Halloween morning in a 5K Walk/Run to benefit Kids4Cancer. Instead of car traffic on Old Cutler Road, foot traffic took over!
