Jump in Prayer with Fellow Westminster Dads
Every Friday morning, Westminster dads gather to lift up our school, teachers, and students in prayer. The group meets after drop-off, and prays as they walk around the school, sometimes visiting classrooms along the way. They recently joined Mrs. Forjan and her class for their morning prayer time.

Thank you to those who have made their contributions to the 2009-2010 Annual Fund. Your dollars are already at work. The ES playground is nearing completion. Through designated gifts, Quest has a new computer with the latest software and a projector to aid in teaching. In the MS, a parent saw a need and funded two new projectors for the MS Math classes, giving teachers and students a chance to work together on the big screen.

Second Grade Learns God Has A Plan for Each One of Us
Mrs. Judy Forjan's second grade class has been reading "The Strongest One," a story about an ant that learns that everything is stronger than something else. Ants may be small, but they can also be strong. They've complemented the story by studying ants and creating a Classroom Ant Colony, complete with student created chambers that include a salon chamber, sports chamber, a hospital chamber, a school chamber and more.

Westminster Christian Middle School's Junior Thespian Troupe 88896 presents "You + Me - An evening of short plays about {complicated} relationships” on Wed. & Thurs., Sept. 30 & Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Guarch Family Auditorium. This performance is a combination of four short plays all dealing with the ups and downs of relationships between men and women.

So You Want to Sew! by Mrs. Sandy Hegeman
Every afternoon I wait with anticipation as the students trickle into the classroom for the afternoon elective, Pins and Needles. It is an exclusive "ladies" only class. There are no sighs and groans about the activities. The girls eagerly pick up their stitching for the day and master another stitch. After a few weeks of manual labor, we move on to the power machines. The foot pedal, similar to a gas pedal, determines the speed of the machine.

Working in Miami, but living in Hawaii brings its own set of challenges. Getting up at 2 a.m. for a video conference with student council members, taking phone calls at 3 a.m. from people who can't quite figure out the time change, or waking up as Westminster is already finishing lunch, are just a couple of the minor inconveniences.

The Varsity Girls' Volleyball team made their mark at the recent OVA High School Showcase 2009, taking home the Silver. The Lady Warriors were 4-1 for the tournament, and beat the #1 seed, and arguably the best team in the State, Winter Park HS.

Third Annual Warriors Swimming Invitational Draws Huge Support
The Third Annual Warriors Middle School Swimming Invitational raised more than $1,500 to benefit the MS and V swim teams. More than 220 MS swimmers from WCS, Doral Academy, Belen Jesuit Prep, Gulliver Academy, Ransom Everglades, Miami Country Day, Keys Gate Charter School, Heritage School, Carrollton and home school teams raced in the event. More than 450 swimmers and fans crowed the WCS pool deck to watch the competition.
