Incredible People Needed for the Upcoming Academic Year

Founded in 1961, Westminster Christian School enrolls approximately 1,241 students in grades PK3 through 12. Westminster is located in the Village of Palmetto Bay, on 31 acres of tropical hammock a quarter mile from Biscayne Bay and 15 miles south of Miami, Florida.

We are eager to talk with anyone who is interested in joining an exceptional team of educators, who has the track record and personality to make them a contender, and who is ready to work hard at the best Christian School in paradise.

Persons interested in joining the Westminster Christian team will be asked to put their vision and leadership skills to work. Successful candidates will be able to articulate and implement an educational philosophy based in a reformed, evangelical theology and must be an active member of a Protestant church. We are looking for people with strong, well defended opinions who are also team players. We are looking for confident, creative, energetic people who are passionate about instilling the love of learning in their students and who foster curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

Openings Currently Available

High School English/Social Studies Teacher

Job Summary:
  • Teach utilizing a variety of teaching methods in order to impart knowledge, wisdom and information in a biblical manner
  • Prepare effective lessons, instruct, and motivate students utilizing a variety of teaching methods 
  • Assign lessons and correct classwork and homework in a timely manner
  • Maintain student grades and student-parent communication via the school's online grading and email system
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and have a classroom that is conducive to learning
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, or related field
  • Certified or certifiable with the Florida Department of Education
  • Highly energetic, has initiative, loves working with high school students and parents
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching High School English and/or Social Studies
GRASP Teacher
Grades: K-Grade 8

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Florida teaching credential 
  • Classification: Certified (Certified Subject Area: Reading or ESE)
  • Recent experience working effectively with students needing specialized instruction
Duties:
  • Assess student needs and develop an academic support plan.
  • Use research-based approaches blended with strengths outlined in the student's psycho-educational testing to develop student's areas of academic weakness.
  • Increase student's personal organization techniques for time management, project planning and task execution.
  • Collaborate with other teachers.
  • Attend regular meetings and conferences as needed or assigned
  • Participate in faculty meetings and committees, as needed or assigned
Extended Day Worker (After school hours)

Required Qualifications:
  • Active member in a Protestant church whose doctrine is consistent with Westminster Christian School's Statement of Belief
  • Belief that all students can achieve excellence
  • Knows WCS mission/philosophy and core values
  • Highly energetic, has initiative, loves young children
  • Appropriate knowledge of child development to engage preschool/elementary students with activities
  • Understanding of how to supervise preschool/elementary students
  • Able to work from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursdays
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with or ability to work with preschool/elementary children
