  • American Sign Language Club

The purpose of the American Sign Language club is to spread knowledge and a passion of the language to anyone who is interested. I’m hoping I can get many students involved in the deaf community, not only to help out that community, but to strengthen their own grasp of the language. The beginning club meetings would lay out a basic introduction to the language. Simple words and phrases will be taught so students who don’t know any signs will not be excluded. Apart from the language itself, deaf culture and deaf history will be included so that the students have a broader understanding of the deaf community. Events would consist of deaf gatherings so club members could meet and practice their skills with deaf signers!Student Sponsor(s): Sam Schramm
