Admission Testing

Preschool, Kindergarten and 1st grade:
Testing will be scheduled by the Elementary Office after all of the application documentation has been received by the Admission Office.  All Preschool- 1st Grade testing is conducted on the Westminster campus, on a one-to-one basis. The fee for testing is included in the application fee for PK3-1st grade only. 

2nd grade - 11th grade:
Once you have applied to WCS, the Admission Office will contact you with your registration link and event code, which will enable you to register for the ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam). 
The cost of the ISEE Admission exam is $120.00 if taken on the Westminster Christian site, and is paid at the time of the online registration for the test. (This is a separate fee from your application fee.  If testing at other locations, the fee may be more)

At the time of registration, please remember to add Westminster Christian School as the school to receive the score report. The SCHOOL CODE FOR WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN IS: 571054 Score reports will be sent directly to parents and the designated school.

Test Accommodation

In order to receive accommodations for the ISEE Admission test, please contact ISEE directly for a list of available facilities. Please note that ISEE requires 5 weeks to review and approve all accommodation requests.

Westminster admission testing is a closed test site for WCS candidates only. Once you have applied to WCS, the Admission Office will contact you with the registration link and event code in order to register for the dates listed above.

  • Q: What is the ISEE?

    The Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE) is an admission test created by the Educational Records Bureau (ERB) which was founded in 1927 at Columbia University. ERB is the oldest and largest independent school testing agency in the nation.
    The ISEE is a multiple choice test in Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Mathematics Achievement. There will also be an essay prompt.
  • Q: How do I register for the test?

    Once you have applied to Westminster Christian School, the Admission Office will contact you with available dates for the Admission entrance exam. The Admission Office will provide your INVITATION CODE, which will enable you to register for the ISEE exam held at Westminster Christian School. Please register online at www.iseetest.org.

    The cost of the exam is $120.00. (You may decide to take the exam at another location, but please remember to designate Westminster Christian School as a recipient for your score.) The SCHOOL CODE FOR WESTMINSTER CHRISTIAN IS: 571054.

    Check in is at 8:15 the morning of the exam. No late arrivals can be accommodated.
  • Q: Does it matter where I take the test?

    No, you may take the test at an open test center, but please make sure that you designate Westminster Christian School as a recipient by entering our School Code 571054.
  • Q: Do I need to bring anything to the test?

    The test will be taken online with our Surface Pro computers provided by Westminster.  Please bring a sweater or sweatshirt, in case the room is chilly and a snack.
  • Q: How long will the test take?

    ISEE Primary is for students who are candidates for admission to Grades 2-4, and the test will take approximately one hour.  ISEE Lower Level is for students who are candidates for Grades 5-6 and this test will take 140 minutes. (two hours and 20 minutes)  ISEE Middle and Upper levels are for candidates who are applicants for Grades 7-12 and this test will take 160 minutes. (two hours and 40 minutes)
  • Q: How can I prepare for the test?

    The best way to prepare for the test is to review the “What to Expect on the ISEE” section of the www.iseetest.org website.  This site will review test-taking strategies and provide online practice questions.
  • Q: How will my scores be reported to the schools?

    At the time of registration, you may designate schools to receive your scores.  This service is included in the registration fee.  Please enter the Westminster code (571054) to have your scores sent to Westminster.  Scores will be sent to both the school and the parent 3-5 days after taking the online test.
  • Q: My child has an accommodation to receive extended time on exams.  How is this handled?

    Students requesting ISEE accommodations will register online and submit the required paperwork to ERB for review/approval at least 5 weeks in advance of the test date.   ERB will require a copy of the supporting documentation which details the specific accommodation (Psychoeducational report, IEP, etc. dated within the past 3 years).  The family will apply to Westminster, receive an Invitation Code to register for a particular test date, register with ISEE stating on the application that your son or daughter will require an accommodation, ISEE will then email the family with further instructions required for them to review and approve the accommodation for the admission test. 
  • Q: What should I do if I need to cancel my test date?

    If for some reason you will not be taking the ISEE after registering for it, you may request a refund before the scheduled test date by calling the ISEE Operations Office at 1-800-446-0320.  All refunds will have a $35.00 cancellation fee.
