Diaz '16 named Goldwater Scholar for Chemistry Research
Ashley Diaz '16, a sophomore at Emory University, earned a 2018 Goldwater Scholarship, the nation’s premier undergraduate award in mathematics, natural sciences and engineering, for her research related to bacterial resistance. Diaz was one of only 211 scholarships chosen from 1,280 applicants nationwide.
It is with sadness we inform you of the passing of Dan DeLange, Sr., who passed away on March 21, 2018. Dan was highly-regarded and admired at WCS, as he held many influential positions over the years. He was Westminster Christian School’s first Principal and a strong influence in the development of the school during his tenure.

Merrett Fay ’15 still finds time to explore his talents and passion around the world even as a sophomore enrolled in the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications Innovation Academy.
Alumnae Alexa Mora '13 and Rebecca Barrios '13 are living the dream. They are working for Compassion International and traveling the country helping over 3,000 children find sponsors. They were partnered on road together for five weeks and got to explore the country together. California, Tennessee, Idaho, and Ohio are some of the states that they have visited.
After a successful first year in the minor leagues with the Kansas City Royals, MJ has come back to Miami to help those in Puerto Rico affected by Hurricane Maria. Together with his father, FIU baseball coach Mervyl Melendez, MJ will host a baseball camp for kids ages 6 to 14 at FIU, with all proceeds going to the Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs in Puerto Rico.
WCS alum Chris Dunn '09 married Caitlin Elle on June 17, 2017 in Cohasset, MA, about 45 minutes south of Boston. In high school, Chris played Varsity Football and Soccer and earned the Warrior Award for Athletics.
