Students Use Minecraft to Build Virtual Solutions to Real-Life Problems

Elementary Enrichment teachers Mrs. Pastrana and Mrs. Castellanos implemented Minecraft in Education so students could design and build solutions to real-life problems as part of their Project Lead the Way Curriculum (PLTW).
In a Minecraft world, third grade students created bee gardens to help increase the bee population in the United States.  The students built their solution, took pictures, and created books incorporating the science learned.

Using Minecraft as a tool in the classroom was an innovative way for the teachers to allow the students to advance in the curriculum, while being mindful of the health and safety restrictions that have been put in place since COVID.

Best of all, students are learning and are enjoying sharing their worlds with others!
