Westminster Taps Sanchez to Lead School’s Advancement Efforts

Westminster has named Monica Sanchez as director of advancement. She comes to Westminster with more than 20 years of experience in non-profit fundraising and in the marketing/advertising industry. Most recently Sanchez has been working as an advancement consultant at Westminster lending her expertise to the annual fund, donor relations and events related to the 60th anniversary celebration.

Previously, she was the director of development at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital Foundation where her work focused on developing major gifts, and also served as the director of development at Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship where she led their efforts in philanthropic growth.

She was also instrumental at The Everglades Foundation where she was responsible for building their corporate and foundation partnership support. Prior to these roles, she worked as the director of alumni at an independent private school in Miami for 12 years where she was responsible for the annual fund, building an alumni board, increasing fundraising event revenue, and assisting in the capital campaign.

“Since I stepped foot on this campus in 2011, I felt this campus was home and hoped one day I might have an opportunity to work here and help increase philanthropic opportunities, said Sanchez “We have an amazing community of families and it’s a blessing to work with so many whose goals are the same - to serve the Lord and provide our children with an excellent Christian education.”

Sanchez graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing with a minor in Spanish. She is an active member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and holds leadership roles in Beaux Arts and the Junior League of Miami.

Monica is married to Joe, and they have two sons: CJ ’25 and Mason ’29. They are proud to have been a Westminster family since their oldest started kindergarten in 2012.
