Robotics Teams Take Top Spots in Online Challenge

 
Westminster elementary robotics teams 6855A and 6855C won first place in the REC Foundation 2021-2022 STEM Research Project: Biomimicry In Engineering Online Challenge.
Team 6855A's entry was the Orca Submarine and Team 6855C's entry was the Cricket Cart. This award comes with an invitation to the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas from May 10-12, 2022.  Team 6855A members are fourth grade students Mateo Escobar, Alejandro Gonzalez, Mikey Robinson, and Ryan Dopazo. Team 6855C members are fifth grade students Khloe Fedee, Paulina Macias, Christopher Wood, Dylan Hudson and Lucas Cunado, and fourth graders Lola Viale, Emma Romaguera, and Gabriel Rodriguez.
 
Team 6855B placed second in the REC Foundation 2021-2022 Girl Powered! Online Challenge, sponsored by Google, with their Girl-Powered with Pizzazz entry. This award comes with a $100 VEX gift certificate to buy supplies for the team. Team 6855B includes fifth graders Christine Gordon and Talena Rivera, and fourth graders Bianca Lavigna, Juliette Beckham, Hannah McGrath, and Diana Heilemann.
