Senior Named Foot Locker Scholar Athlete
In a surprise ceremony during HS Chapel, senior Sophia Poveda was named a Foot Locker Scholar Athlete, earning her a $20,000 scholarship. The Foot Locker representative stated, "We received over 37,000 applications, and Sophia genuinely stood out as an exceptional student-athlete who's demonstrated promise on the field, in the classroom, and in her community."
Sophia is a varsity volleyball and basketball player, is ranked in the top 10 percent of her class, and is secretary of the senior class. She will play volleyball at Stonehill College in Easton, MA in the fall.
