Westminster dominates 64th Annual South Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair
WCS students spent countless hours preparing their projects for the Regional Fair. Their projects ranged from the fields of microbiology to animal and plant sciences, and as a result of their efforts, Carolina Gonzalez, Sara Fernandez, Madison Precht, Hannah Sprinkle, Tyler Hannon, Anthony Pastrana, and Kayla Dumas earned superiors; Bjorn Garrido, Arielle Fedee, Katrina Bobson, Elisabeth Campbell, and Nashali Vescovacci were awarded excellents; and Abigail Bell earned an honorable mention. More than 25,000 students from all over the county competed at the Regional fair.
In addition to these awards, Arielle Fedee received the NAACP Award and Naval Academy Award, Sara Fernandez was awarded the In Vitro Biology Award, and Nashali Vescovacci earned the first place Physician Assistant Award. Moreover, of the 18 senior division representatives selected for the State Science and Engineering Fair, Westminster had three students chosen to compete: Arielle Fedee, Madison Precht, and Hannah Sprinkle. Finally, Madison and Arielle have both also qualified to compete at Intel’s Science and Engineering Fair in May held in Pittsburg. Way to go, Warriors!
