This past weekend, Max Milian '18 traveled with the South Florida Youth Consortium Orchestra (SFYCO) to New York City where he performed on tympani in Carnegie Hall. Milian has been a percussionist and principle tympanist with the Miami Dade College Symphonic Orchestra for the past three years through a dual enrollment Fine Arts program, which lead to this opportunity with SFYCO.
This group was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as part of WorldStrides on Stage Instrumental Music Festival. Selections ranged from Beethoven, Mozart and Dvorak to Aaron Copland, and as well as two contemporary pieces. It was an amazing thrill and blessing for Max to be a part of this unforgettable night at Carnegie where so many legendary and musical heroes have performed.
