Now that Mr. Heetderks’ Nature Center and Wild Acre is finished, it seemed only fitting we unplug, look around at the amazing nature in front of us, and do some classic summer camp stuff! We’ll build a campfire and roast hotdogs, construct forts, catch and observe insects, sing silly songs, design boats to race in the pond, braid friendship bracelets, stencil leaves on a ceramic mug, use sticks and berries to write and sketch in our nature journals, look out for the pink gorilla (WHAT?!?), make crazy clay creatures, practice team cheers, and have lots and lots of FUN!

As usual, we will learn SO MUCH about the trees, animals, flowers, pond creatures, weather patterns, rocks, and plants from where we live. Mr. Heetderks even promises to help you make and plant your very own seed bomb, survive a slippery day of blowing huge bubbles, build your own solar oven to bake some sweet treats, and even learn to use a compass to find some buried treasure!

The weekly fee is $350 and includes a daily hot lunch, art materials, kiln firing fees, snacks, and a bag of full of art masterpieces to amaze your friends and family! Spots always fill up quickly so be sure to register starting April 15th on the WCS website‘s Summer Camp section. Look for “Specialty Camps” under which you will find us . . . “Art & Science Camp!”
