Founded in 1961, Westminster Christian School enrolls approximately 1,280 students in grades PK3 through 12. Westminster is located in the Village of Palmetto Bay, on 31 acres of tropical hammock a quarter mile from Biscayne Bay and 15 miles south of Miami, Florida.

We are eager to talk with anyone who is interested in joining an exceptional team of educators, who has the track record and personality to make them a contender, and who is ready to work hard at the best Christian School in paradise.
Persons interested in joining the Westminster Christian team will be asked to put their vision and leadership skills to work. Successful candidates will be able to articulate and implement an educational philosophy based in a reformed, evangelical theology and must be an active member of a Protestant church. We are looking for people with strong, well-defended opinions who are also team players. We are looking for confident, creative, energetic people who are passionate about instilling the love of learning in their students and who foster curiosity, creativity, and collaboration.

  • Athletics - Bus Driver (Part-time)

    • Must demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
    • Must have in their possession a valid Florida CDL license with required passenger (P) and school bus driver (S) endorsements. Driver applicants must submit to a background check prior to being hired and inquiries to their Motor Vehicle Records. 
    • Be responsible for conducting a mechanical safety pre-trip inspection prior to each bus run and a post-trip inspection upon completion of each route. 
    • Will be directly responsible for keeping their bus clean and equipment operational at all times. Malfunctioning equipment must be reported in writing for repair or replacement.
    • Must present an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor while dealing with students, parents, staff.
  • Athletics - Cheerleading Coach

    Westminster is seeking a head varsity cheerleading coach for the 2024-2025 season. We are looking for someone to develop an outstanding team and program on the field as well as develop great young women off the field. The head coach is given control of the entire cheerleading program and is supported by the school and athletic administration as needed. Coaches must adhere to all FHSAA and school policies, including the school's statement of faith.  Full-time positions at the school may be available depending on the candidate's experience.  Previous coaching experience required.
  • Athletics - Cross Country Coach

    Westminster is seeking a head varsity cross country coach for the 2024-2025 season. We are looking for someone to develop an outstanding team and program on the field as well as develop great young men and women off the field. The head coach is given control of the entire cross country program and is supported by the school and athletic administration as needed. Coaches must adhere to all FHSAA and school policies, including the school's statement of faith.  Full-time positions at the school may be available depending on the candidate's experience.  Previous coaching experience required.
  • Athletics - Girls' Soccer Coach

    Westminster is seeking a head varsity girls' soccer coach for the 2024-2025 season. We are looking for someone to develop an outstanding team and program on the field as well as develop great young women off the field.   • High School - Social Studies Teacher  

    Westminster is seeking a high school social studies teacher willing to provide students with a rich and holistic understanding of world and or American history while fostering their intellectual curiosity and critical thinking.  
     
    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
    • Develop engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and incorporate a biblical worldview. Integrate relevant historical events, themes, and concepts into the curriculum. 
    • Utilize various teaching methods and strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and foster critical thinking skills. Encourage class discussions, debates, and projects that promote deeper understanding of historical events and their significance. 
    • Provide guidance and support to students participating in the Model UN club. Organize meetings, facilitate discussions on international relations and diplomacy, and prepare students for Model UN conferences. 
    • Coordinate with relevant organizations, experts, and community leaders to invite guest speakers to the classroom. Arrange presentations and Q&A sessions on topics related to world or American history, current events, and global issues. 
    • Plan and organize educational field trips to historical sites, museums, and other relevant locations. Enhance students' learning experiences by providing opportunities for hands-on exploration and experiential learning. 
    • Create opportunities for students to engage in extracurricular activities related to social studies, such as historical reenactments, academic competitions, and community service projects. 
    • Infuse discussions of historical events and themes with biblical principles and perspectives. Encourage students to critically examine the ethical implications of historical decisions and actions from a biblical standpoint. 
    • Design fair and meaningful assessments to evaluate students' understanding of course materials. Provide constructive feedback to help students improve their historical analysis, research skills, and written communication. 
    • Stay informed about current trends, research, and best practices in social studies education.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness and stay updated on curriculum standards and resources.

  • High School - World Language Spanish Teacher

    Westminster is seeking a World Languages - Spanish teacher who will bring enthusiasm and experience to the classroom.
     
    Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in a related field and be certified or certifiable with the Florida Department of Education. 
     
    Applicants must be able to:
      • Develop lesson plans and original assessments
      • Keep accurate records of student progress
      • Communicate with students, parents, and counselors to discuss any concerns or issues that may arise.

Westbridge Academy - Opening in Fall 2024

Westbridge Academy, a division of Westminster Christian School, is an independent Christian school for second through fifth grade students with language-based learning disabilities, such as dyslexia. The school will open its doors in fall 2024 and is seeking to fill the roles listed below. 

Westbridge employees must meet all qualifications of a Westminster Christian School employee. Westbridge employees are eligible to receive the same benefits package as a Westminster Christian School employee, including tuition remission, if applicable.
