Incredible People Needed for the Upcoming Academic Year

Founded in 1961, Westminster Christian School enrolls approximately 1,241 students in grades PK3 through 12. Westminster is located in the Village of Palmetto Bay, on 31 acres of tropical hammock a quarter mile from Biscayne Bay and 15 miles south of Miami, Florida.

Persons interested in joining the Westminster Christian team will be asked to put their vision and leadership skills to work. Successful candidates will be able to articulate and implement an educational philosophy based in a reformed, evangelical theology and must be an active member of a Protestant church. We are looking for people with strong, well defended opinions who are also team players.   • Athletics - Part-Time Bus Driver

      • Must demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
      • Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
      • Must have in their possession a valid Florida CDL license with required passenger (P) and school bus driver (S) endorsements. Driver applicants must submit to a background check prior to being hired and inquiries to their Motor Vehicle Records. 
      • Be responsible for conducting a mechanical safety pre-trip inspection prior to each bus run and a post-trip inspection upon completion of each route. 
      • Will be directly responsible for keeping their bus clean and equipment operational at all times. Malfunctioning equipment must be reported in writing for repair or replacement.
      • Must present an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor while dealing with students, parents, staff.
  • Athletics - Summer Camp and Elementary Sports Director

    Westminster is seeking a full-time summer camp and elementary sports director. This person will be responsible for managing the after-school sports program on the elementary campus, and will plan and lead the successful operation of Westminster's summer camp program. 
     
    For the elementary sports program, the director is responsible for the recruitment, hiring, and training of all coaches, staff and volunteers. In most cases, the director is also the immediate supervisor of staff. Program director also performs performance evaluations and develops professional development plans for the staff to ensure the program maintains a high level of quality. He/she plans and enrolls sports teams in league competitions.

    This person is also responsible for the planning and implementation of Westminster's summer camp program including hiring and overseeing staffing and volunteers. An understanding of fee collection and budget management is essential.

    The ideal candidate will excel at building relationships with students and parents, and will have a sense for marketing the program and for what it means to provide students with meaningful and enriching experiences.

    Fluency in Spanish is a plus. 

    It is preferred that the Director possess a college degree and have 2-3 years' experience in developing and implementing sports and enrichment programs.  
     
  • High School - Bible

    Westminster is seeking a Bible teacher who will bring enthusiasm and experience to the classroom.   

    Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in a related field and be certified or certifiable with the Florida Department of Education. 
     
    Applicants must be able to:
      • Develop lesson plans and original assessments
      • Keep accurate records of student progress
      • Communicate with students, parents, and counselors to discuss any concerns or issues that may arise.
      • Collaborate with the department head and colleagues in their department on a regular basis.
      • Successful candidates will be able to articulate and implement an educational philosophy based in a reformed, evangelical theology and must be an active member of a Protestant church
  • High School - English

    Westminster is seeking a high school English teacher who will bring enthusiasm and experience to the classroom.   

    Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in a related field and be certified or certifiable with the Florida Department of Education.

    Westminster is seeking an high school Spanish teacher who will bring enthusiasm and experience to the classroom.

  • Maintenance Supervisor

    Westminster Christian School is looking for a maintenance supervisor who will oversee activities within the maintenance and janitorial departments. This person will perform quality, service, and safety inspections to ensure the school's facilities are kept in peak condition. The Maintenance Supervisor will coordinate and monitor work activities, evaluate and verify employee performance, and schedule work assignments and set priorities. Training, customer service, and personnel management will play a large part in this role. 
     
    Candidates should have an eye for detail, be driven by excellence, and have experience in the maintenance or janitorial fields. Management experience a plus.
