Founded in 1961, Westminster Christian School enrolls approximately 1,241 students in grades PK3 through 12. Westminster is located in the Village of Palmetto Bay, on 31 acres of tropical hammock a quarter mile from Biscayne Bay and 15 miles south of Miami, Florida.

  • Athletics - Girls' Basketball Coach

    Westminster is seeking a head varsity girls' basketball coach for the 2023-2024 season. We are looking for someone to develop an outstanding team and program on the court as well as develop great young women off the court. The head coach is given control of the entire girls' basketball program from the MS through HS and is supported by the school and athletic administration as needed. Coaches must adhere to all FHSAA and school policies, including the school's statement of faith.  Full-time positions at the school may be available depending on the candidate's experience.  Previous coaching experience required.  Interested candidates should email a resume to the Athletic Director Ben Warren at bwarren@wcsmiami.org.

  • Athletics - Part-Time Bus Driver

      • Must demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
      • Must be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
      • Must have in their possession a valid Florida CDL license with required passenger (P) and school bus driver (S) endorsements. Driver applicants must submit to a background check prior to being hired and inquiries to their Motor Vehicle Records. 
      • Be responsible for conducting a mechanical safety pre-trip inspection prior to each bus run and a post-trip inspection upon completion of each route. 
      • Will be directly responsible for keeping their bus clean and equipment operational at all times. Malfunctioning equipment must be reported in writing for repair or replacement.
      • Must present an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor while dealing with students, parents, staff.
  • Elementary - Classroom Assistants - Kindergarten and Grade 3

    Required Qualifications:
      • Active member in a Protestant church whose doctrine is consistent with Westminster Christian School's Statement of Belief
      • Belief that all students can achieve excellence
      • Knows WCS mission/philosophy, goals, and objectives
        Understands the spiritual, academic, emotional, psychological and social needs and background of each student
      • Highly energetic, has initiative, loves working with elementary students
      • Able to work closely with the grade level teachers
      • Appropriate knowledge of child development 
    Preferred Qualifications:
      • Associate Degree or higher
      • Previous experience with or ability to work with elementary students
  • Elementary - Extended Day Worker (After School Hours)

    Required Qualifications:
    • Active member in a Protestant church whose doctrine is consistent with Westminster Christian School's Statement of Belief
    • Belief that all students can achieve excellence

    • Highly energetic, has initiative, loves young children
    • Appropriate knowledge of child development to engage preschool/elementary students with activities
    • Understanding of how to supervise elementary students
    • Able to work from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except on Thursdays, work from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
    Preferred Qualifications:
      • Previous experience with or ability to work with preschool/elementary children
  • Elementary - K5 Teacher

    Criteria:

      • Understands the spiritual, academic, emotional, psychological and social needs of elementary students
      • Highly energetic, has initiative, loves working with elementary students
      • Actively instructs and engages students
      • Creates lesson plans that address all learners’ needs based on the standard/skill being taught
      • Assigns and corrects homework
      • Manages student behavior in the classroom through the use of a positive behavior plan
      • Instructs using technology resources
      • Uses manipulatives as an instructional tool
      • Understands how to differentiate instruction based on the students’ instructional level
      • Actively communicates with parents
    In addition to the criteria listed above, qualified candidates will possess great interpersonal skills and easily collaborates with the grade level team.

    Required Qualifications:
      • Bachelor's degree
      • Valid Florida certification in Elementary Education or Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade 3)
  • Elementary - Physical Education Teacher

    • Creates lesson plans that address all learners’ needs based on the standards/skills
    • Manages student behavior with the implementation of a positive behavior plan
    • Uses technology as needed to instruct, communicate, and maintain required records
    • Uses appropriate resources to develop concepts and skills of the physical education program
    • Understands how to differentiate instruction based on the student's physical and developmental level
    • Actively communicates with parents

    Westminster is seeking an English teacher who will bring enthusiasm and experience to the classroom. Qualified candidates will possess at minimum an undergraduate degree in a related field and be certified or certifiable with the Florida Department of Education.

      • Instruct students on how to use the English language correctly through reading, writing, and analyzing of literature and informative text.
