Financial Aid

Thank you very much for your interest in Westminster Christian School.  Westminster realizes that a private school education is an expenditure that not every family is equipped to make.  As a Christian school, Westminster cherishes the opportunity to partner with families who have a financial need, whereby we can come alongside our families and provide between 10-40% of the cost of tuition, based on demonstrated financial need.  Westminster Christian does not provide any scholarships or full assistance packages.  We politely request that all financial aid awards are kept strictly confidential.
Westminster uses the services of TADS (Tuition Aid Data Services) to process financial information submitted by the parent to determine eligibility for assistance.  Please note that financial assistance is not available for the Preschool Program, Extended Day services, GRASP, Warrior Week, Technology Fees, or any other special programs.  Financial Aid is not awarded to foreign citizens who do not file US taxes.  Financial Assistance is not available to families who are applying under the Early Admission program.  All financial assistance awards must be applied for annually.

Westminster is very pleased to announce a new time line regarding Financial Assistance applications for our new families.  If all academic documentation has been submitted to the Admission Office and all financial documentation has been submitted to TADS according to the following schedule, and IF ACCEPTED, families will receive an enrollment offer with a financial assistance award.

Frequently Asked Questions about Financial Aid

List of 10 frequently asked questions.

  • Q: How can I know if I can afford an education at Westminster Christian School?

First, please refer to the Tuition and Fee Schedule listed on the web site for all specific charges and fees.  While Westminster attempts to meet the demonstrated financial needs of our families, the financial assistance we may be able to contribute will range between 10-40% of tuition costs. For example, the cost of tuition for a high school student is approximately $22,000 per year.  If an individual chooses to pay monthly without the benefit of financial aid, the amount would be approximately $1900 per month paid over an eleven month period.  Receiving the maximum Westminster may be able to offer of 40%, would result in 11 monthly payments of approximately $1200 for a high school student.
  • Q: Who is eligible to apply for Financial aid?

All families who have children entering Kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to apply for financial assistance.
  • Q: Will I qualify to receive Financial aid?

Financial aid at Westminster is need-based. TADS will conduct an analysis of income versus expenses for each family that applies.  TADS will provide Westminster with an estimate on how much the family can afford to spend toward their child’s education.  Financial Aid awards at Westminster Christian School will never cover 100% of tuition.
  • Q: What does Financial Aid Cover?

Tuition only, up to the amount awarded, is covered under financial aid.   Warrior Week, Technology Fees, Athletic Fees, uniforms or any other fees not part of tuition are not covered by financial aid.
  • Q: What if the parents are Divorced or Separated?

Financial information is required for both biological parents.  The existence of a legal determination excusing one parent from financial contributions towards a child’s education will not be considered.  We believe that it is the obligation of both parents to contribute to a child’s educational expenses.  If either parent is remarried, we will consider the income/assets of the step-parent.
  • Q: Must both parents work to receive financial aid?

Unless there are legitimate reasons why a spouse is not employed, such a decision is considered a lifestyle choice and will be a factor in determining financial need.
  • Q: Do I have to apply for Financial Aid every year?

Yes.  Financial aid awards are evaluated every year.  Families must re-apply each year and submit their tax returns yearly to determine if the family's financial situation has not changed from the previous year.
  • Q: When do we receive Financial Aid Notifications?

Financial Aid Awards will be sent in March.
  • Q: Can my child lose the financial aid award?

Parents sign an award agreement where they accept the award and understand that financial aid awards may be jeopardized in the event of poor scholastic performance, disciplinary problems, breach of confidentiality or failure to meet financial obligations.
  • Q: My child was accepted into Westminster. Can I expect to receive financial aid?

The admission and financial aid processes are independent from each other.  Acceptance into the school does not guarantee financial aid.
You may contact TADS for assistance in completing your application or to check your application’s status at 1-800-477-8237.  If you have further questions regarding our financial aid process, please contact our Business Office at 305-233-2030.
Westminster has been a special part of my heart for 10 years now. Westminster is not just a school; it is a home.
