Financial Aid

Financial Aid: School and Student Services

Westminster partners with School and Student Services (SSS), formerly TADS, to process financial information submitted by the parent to determine eligibility for assistance for both current and prospective families.

All financial assistance awards must be applied for annually. Financial assistance is not available for preschool, extended day services, GRASP, Warrior Week, technology fees, or any other special programs. Financial Aid is not awarded to foreign citizens who do not file U.S. taxes or to families who are applying under the Early Admission program.

Frequently Asked Questions about Financial Aid

List of 10 frequently asked questions.

  • How can I know if I can afford an education at Westminster Christian School?

First, please refer to the Tuition and Fee Schedule  for all specific charges and fees. While Westminster attempts to meet the demonstrated financial needs of families, financial assistance may range between 10-40% of tuition costs.
  • Who is eligible to apply for financial aid?

All families who have children entering Kindergarten through 12th grade are eligible to apply for financial assistance.
  • Will I qualify to receive financial aid?

Financial aid at Westminster is need-based. SSS will conduct an analysis of income versus expenses for each family that applies. SSS will provide Westminster with an estimate of how much the family can afford to spend toward their child’s education. Financial aid awards at Westminster Christian School will never cover 100% of tuition.
  • What does financial aid cover?

The cost of tuition, up to the amount awarded, is covered under financial aid. Technology fees, athletic fees, uniforms or any other fees not part of tuition are not covered by financial aid.
  • What if the parents are divorced or separated?

Financial information is required for both biological parents. The existence of a legal determination excusing one parent from financial contributions towards a child’s education will not be considered. We believe that it is the obligation of both parents to contribute to a child’s educational expenses. If either parent is remarried, we will consider the income/assets of the stepparent.
  • Must both parents work to receive financial aid?

Unless there are legitimate reasons why a spouse is not employed, such a decision is considered a lifestyle choice and will be a factor in determining financial need.
  • Do I have to apply for financial aid every year?

Yes. Financial aid awards are evaluated every year. Families must re-apply each year and submit their tax returns annually to determine financial aid eligibility.
  • When do we receive financial aid notifications?

Financial aid awards will be sent in March for current families. All new families will be notified when financial documentation has been submitted to SSS and the student has completed the admission process. Financial aid will be notified when a student is accepted and offered enrollment.
  • Can my child lose the financial aid award?

Parents sign an award agreement where they accept the award and understand that financial aid awards may be jeopardized in the event of poor scholastic performance, disciplinary problems, breach of confidentiality or failure to meet financial obligations.
  • My child was accepted into Westminster. Can I expect to receive financial aid?

The admission and financial aid processes are independent from each other. Acceptance into the school does not guarantee financial aid.
Westminster Christian School, located in Palmetto Bay, Florida, is a private, college-preparatory school for children from preschool through twelfth grade.
