The Westminster Difference

From preschool to high school, Westminster students are challenged to achieve their full potential academically while discovering and growing their God-given gifts. Westminster's unique programs are designed to empower, inspire and prepare our students to meet this challenge.

Weekly Chapel

Students from preschool through twelfth grade attend weekly chapels where they worship and are engaged in biblical teachings. The year’s theme verse informs the weekly messages and is an integral part of the chapel service. Our youngest learners focus on worship and learning about God while older students learn how to apply God’s word to their lives, grow their faith and develop relationships to sustain them in their Christian walk.

WorldWonder

The WorldWonder program is an experiential learning component of the elementary life sciences curriculum. The hands-on program inspires learning through exploration and instills an appreciation for God's creation. The program takes place in the Nature Center and surrounding Wild Acre, an on-campus botanical garden with trails, obstacle courses and areas to discover.

Warrior Week

High school students kick-off every school year with a week-long spiritual retreat that takes place in the beautiful mountains of Jasper, GA. Warrior Week is a magnificent combination of fellowship, worship, daily devotionals, character-building activities, fun and adventure. Students pursue spiritual renewal while developing relationships with fellow classmates and faculty in preparation for a successful academic school year.

Signature Programs

Westminster’s signature programs allow students to discover and develop their gifts, while providing further preparation for the rigor of college and beyond. Students can work with their counselors to select from six signature programs based on their interests and college goals: AP Capstone, Entrepreneurship, Mass Media, Biomedical, Engineering, or Science Research.

Emerald Scholars

The crowning jewel of Westminster’s signature programs is Emerald Scholars. This program is designed for exceptional high school students who seek academic enrichment by enrolling in Westminster’s most ambitious courses. Emerald scholars benefit from exclusive opportunities such as internships, independent research, service projects and more. Emerald Scholars will graduate as Christian leaders prepared to think critically, collaborate effectively, seek innovative solutions, and be examples of excellence in their communities.

Peer Counseling

Westminster offers a peer counseling program in the high school where trained students provide one-on-one, confidential support to fellow peers struggling with life’s challenges. The goal is to enable students to discover their own solutions to some of life’s challenges. All peer counselors undergo training to address the common problems of high-school-aged people, while more complicated topics are referred to the high school personal counselor for a clinical approach.

Microsoft Showcase School

For seven consecutive years, Microsoft has recognized Westminster as a Showcase School, an elite title designated for schools that exemplify the best of teaching and learning in the world today. Westminster is the only school in the country to hold this many consecutive titles.

As a Microsoft Showcase School, Westminster amplifies the use of technology to drive school-wide digital transformation and efficiencies. We also emphasize personalized learning for our students using 1:1 learning devices and learning with current technology such as Microsoft Teams, Office 365 Education, OneNote, and more.

Student Leadership

Westminster’s student leadership program begins in the elementary school and culminates in the high school. As a unique model of student government, students serve their community in three areas: advocating for the student body; spiritual development; and, events and activities. Student leaders are responsible for planning school events such as Homecoming, Warrior Week, community service projects and other activities that help them develop as servant leaders through real-world experience.

Study Abroad

Sophomores and juniors have the opportunity to enhance their educational experience by studying in Europe for one semester at the American boarding school in Kandern, Germany. The Christian school is located just minutes from France and Switzerland and provides countless opportunities for enrichment. This unique setting exposes students to international experiences while building friendships with fellow English-speaking students.

Individualized College Counseling

Students have a dedicated college counselor starting in ninth grade that provide support throughout their high school career. From selecting the right university to choosing high school academic courses based on their goals and interests, Westminster’s College Counseling Center is provided at no extra cost to every student. Juniors and seniors also attend boot camps each year to prepare them for the college search and application process.

Fine Arts

Fine Arts nurtures artistic expression that strengthens a young person’s relationship with God and develops critical thinking and imaginative problem-solving. At Westminster, students explore the arts through the following disciplines: band, choir, dance, orchestra, photography, production, theatre and visual arts. The fine arts curriculum is offered from preschool through graduation, with focused instruction beginning in fourth grade.

Athletics

Westminster Athletics has a tradition of excellence that spans more than 60 years. At Westminster, student athletes are motivated to reach their full potential and to glorify God through their physical gifts. We offer 25 teams to students in grades 6-12, as well as a comprehensive after-school athletic program in the elementary that focuses on skill development and team work. Westminster Athletics is rooted in Christian values, commitment, and discipline that has produced major-league athletes, players on professional tours and many college athletes.
Westminster Christian School, located in Palmetto Bay, Florida, is a private, college-preparatory school for children from preschool through twelfth grade.
