Young Warrior Entrepreneurs Participate in Local Business Fair

On April 29, at Dadeland Mall, 23 Westminster ES and MS students participated in the first annual Children's Business Fair sponsored by Product With Purpose. These young entrepreneurs, worked all year creating business plans, business cards, flyers, and calculating their costs and margins. All of these assignments were part of the students' classwork during TechTime. During this class, students learn authentic technology skills and work on innovative learning activities that reach beyond the school walls and into the community.
As part of their business plan, students set aside at least 10 percent of their earnings to support a charity or church of their choice. Hundreds of people came out to support our young business owners including WCS families, teachers and board members, and Channel 4 news covered the event. For more information on how you can support these young entrepreneurs, please contact Dr. Danielle Bond at dbond@wcsmiami.org.
