The band program offers seven band programs, including concert band, jazz band, and percussion, to students from fourth to twelfth grade.  Under the supervision of the Band Director, students receive weekly, specialized instruction from professional coaches. On campus, the band and drumline promote school spirit by performing at Warrior athletic events.  Off campus, the band excels in local, district, and state competitions, both as individuals and as a group, and performs at community events.  The band has also traveled to perform in New York City, the Bahamas and in locations throughout Florida.

  • Dance

    Director: Nicole del Pino-Perez

Westminster's Dance team trains in both classical and commercial styles of dance to open the doors to many different career options. The team performs in chapels, volunteer opportunities such as for retirement homes, and also competes in the Regional High School Dance festival that takes place every year. This festival and other opportunities allows the dancers to audition for college scholarships and take classes from recruiters with other high schools from around the states.
  • Film

The Film Program provides an opportunity for students to write, direct, and produce their own films. The films are also screened at a Red Carpet premiere at the end of the academic year. The focus is helping students find their niche in film, whether it be in front of or behind the camera.
  • Orchestra

    Director: Jessica Carrasquillo

The orchestra program offers six orchestras to students from fourth to twelfth grade. This rigorous program develops students’ talents, while offering the opportunity for sharing their musical gifts through community performances. “Heartstrings,” a volunteer ensemble organized by high school orchestra students, performs weekly in area hospitals. The middle school and high school orchestras travel annually for state competitions, and have performed at exciting venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York City, and have traveled to Austria and the Czech Republic to perform. They annually receive Superior ratings in District and State Music Performance Assessments.

  • Theatre

The Westminster Theatre curriculum provides an environment for middle and high school students to develop their imaginations, critical thinking skills, interpersonal relationships, and artistic expression. Classes focus on acting through improvisation and scene study, and on preparing students for performance opportunities through one-act and full-length plays. Through the International Thespian Troupe, students participate in district and statewide competitions, consistently receiving Superior and Excellent ratings.  High school students are also introduced to the backstage world of theater by learning and practicing skills in design, set construction, sound and lighting, and stage management.
