Visual Arts

Visual arts instruction is offered to all kindergarten through fifth grade students for an hour each week, and to middle and high school students as a daily elective.  Art students learn the elements of design and develop critical thinking skills as they analyze their own and others’ artwork.  Students routinely win awards locally, regionally, and nationally.  Art electives include drawing and painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and AP drawing.  Students of all levels enjoy field trips to local sights such as Wynwood, and Miami Beach’s Art Deco District, while high school students have toured cultural and art museums in New York, Paris, and Italy.
