FIU President Shares Leadership Advice With Students
“Everyone has a contribution to make. Everyone is on a different journey. The challenge is to figure out what that is. You should have the attitude to leave things better than you found them,” Dr. Mark Rosenberg, President FIU
Westminster students were privileged to attend a Leadership Summit where they heard from and interacted with Dr. Mark Rosenberg, president of Florida International University. He first met with middle school students who are part of the mentoring program and are members of Student Council and NJHS.
Dr. Rosenberg collaborated with the students to define the qualities of a leader, and to discuss how a leader should act in a variety of situations. He did a wonderful job of engaging with the students at their level. From there, he spent time with students who are part of the High School Student Leadership Program. He talked to them about his experience as president of the university and how part of his role as a leader is to help the university adapt to the needs of students. Students enjoyed being able to ask him questions, and to learn more about his leadership philosophy. Thanks to middle school student Eric Eikenberg ’25 for arranging the visit with President Rosenberg.
