Elementary School Students Prepare Valentine's Day Care Packages for Underprivileged Families

Aside from dressing up and having fun during the elementary school's spirit week, students, parents and faculty worked together to "Share the Love" by collecting supplies such as clothes, hand sanitizer and grocery store gift cards for underserved and homeless men, women and children in our community.
Students also wrote a Valentine’s Day card for each care package. Some of the packages will go to the hygiene center at First United Methodist Church of Miami and others to Old Cutler Presbyterian for Homeless Ministries to help underserved families at Southridge High School. The care packages will be distributed during the week of Valentine's Day.

"Much like what Proverbs 19:17 says, with everyone’s help, we will share God’s love with all of His children this upcoming Valentine’s Day," said Manya Glavach, the elementary school media specialist.
