Palmetto Bay Honors Westminster Teacher During Women's History Month

Congratulations to Claudia Pastrana, our elementary PLTW Launch and enrichment teacher, for being featured by the Village of Palmetto Bay during Women’s History Month. Pastrana has taught in Palmetto Bay for the last 13 years and has made great strides in science education and robotics.
While working at Coral Reef Elementary, she started the school's first robotics team and prepared students for SECME competitions in math, science and other STEM-related subjects. Pastrana then went on to teach at Westminster Christian School where she also began the elementary school's VEX Robotics Program; a program that has been extremely successful since its launch. In total, they've earned a World bid for five consecutive years, 29 regional awards, six state awards and three World awards.
