She has been selected to present her research at local and state science fairs. Gonzalez is also a valued member of Westminster’s Drama program, having earned numerous awards at the district and state competitions.

Torres is an ambitious student, enrolling in more than 10 AP courses and earning the title of AP Scholar with Distinction. He is a member of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists and has been a frequent attendee at their national conferences. On campus, he is part of the WCS Technical Theater and has served as a sound engineer for fine arts productions.

The National Recognition Programs grant underrepresented students with academic honors that can be included on college and scholarship applications and connect students with universities across the country, helping them stand out during the admissions process.
