MS/HS Student Dress Code Updates

As we approach the new school year, we would like to share the updated dress code policy regarding skorts and underscore some of our policies for middle school and high school students. The goal of Westminster’s dress code policy is to promote a professional learning environment consistent with our core values of excellence and respect. In line with these values, we have defined our dress code policy to provide more specific guidelines on acceptable styles.

Please review the updates below as well as the student dress code policy for further clarification:

  • The “double tab pleat skort” and “double pleat skort” are the two acceptable style choices for girls from the AA uniform collection. Please note, the double bow skort is designed for elementary aged students and is not acceptable for middle school and high school girls.
  • Uniform shorts/skorts, including the inner lining of skorts, may not be altered, rolled up, or shortened in any way. Shorts/skorts must pass the “fingertip test,” where the hem of the garment reaches the tips of the fingers when a student stands straight, and arms/hands are placed by their side.
  • Students may only wear Westminster-issued sweatshirts and collared uniform shirts. Chapel shirts may only be worn on Tuesdays. The school may offer occasional dress down or “swag” days to be announced periodically throughout the year.

Our school's dress code policy is essential to maintaining a learning environment that promotes excellence and respect, and fosters a sense of unity among students. It is crucial that students adhere to these guidelines.

Violations of the dress code policy will be documented in the student's file and will be immediately communicated to parents. The student will also be required to change into appropriate uniform dress. Subsequent violations will be met with disciplinary measures appropriate to reinforce the importance of adhering to the dress code policy.

Thank you for your commitment to our school community and for partnering with Westminster to create a positive and respectful learning environment. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the updated dress code policy, please contact your campus office.
