The Galbis family asked that we share this letter on the one year anniversary of Tomas' collapse. They are organizing an appreciation mass on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 5 p.m. at St. Augustine Church in Coral Gables. The Westminster family is invited to attend.
Dear Friends –
This coming Thursday, August 25, 2022 marks the one year anniversary of Tomas’s collapse and the journey that forever changed our lives, thus it feels appropriate to update everyone on Tomas’s journey.
We are immensely blessed to share that Tomas continues to get stronger daily, his continuous improvement is attributed to the hand of God, his can-do attitude, his resilient spirit and the love/support from family, friends, and former strangers. Since our last update Tomas has been quite busy. He has been on a disciplined and diligent schedule and recovery path which includes 12 sessions of therapy per week (physical, occupational, speech and vision). Tomas was able to graduate 9th grade with the support of the Miami Dade Hospital Homebound initiative and Westminster Christian School. He was able to volunteer as a summer camp counselor at Westminster “Fun Camp.” And lastly, we are happy to share that he recently attended Warrior Week and will be starting school full time this 2022-23 school year. For your reference, attached is a recent article published by Nicklaus Children’s Hospital that summarizes his story.
We are organizing an “appreciation” mass on the one-year anniversary of Tomas’s collapse this Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 5 p.m. at St. Augustine Church in Coral Gables, Fl. Our village of #TOMASSTRONG supporters are welcome to join us.
We are so VERY PROUD of our Inspirational Warrior, and we are FOREVER THANKFUL to God and our support network of family and friends for all the unconditional love and support!
Many thanks and God Bless you all!
