Signature Programs

Westminster’s signature programs provide a broad array of academic courses that empower students to pursue their interests and prepares them to share their God-given gifts with others. 

Emerald Scholar

The Emerald Scholars program at Westminster Christian School is designed for exceptional high school students who are driven to seek challenge and enrichment in their academic coursework. An Emerald Scholar will enroll in the School’s most challenging courses, and will benefit from participation in exclusive enrichment activities such as internships, independent research, service projects, and more.

Emerald Scholars will graduate as Christian leaders prepared to think critically, collaborate effectively, seek innovative solutions, and be examples of excellence in their communities.  Students who fulfill the requirements of an Emerald Scholar will graduate from Westminster Christian School with the special designation "Emerald Scholar" and receive a distinctive seal on their diploma, recognition at commencement, as well as commemorative ring.

AP Capstone

Two-year program

AP Seminar and AP Research courses seek to develop students' critical thinking skills in research, analysis, evidence-based arguments, collaboration, writing and presenting. Students who pass both AP Seminar and AP Research, as well as four other AP exams, will graduate with the AP Capstone Diploma from the College Board.

Biomedical Science

Three-year program

The Biomedical Science program allows students to take an investigative approach to real and current medical issues. Working with the same tools used by professionals in hospitals and labs, students engage in compelling, hands-on activities and work together to find solutions to real world problems. Our professional partners are an integral part of student success and provide mentorship throughout the program.

Engineering

Three-year program

Westminster’s Engineering Program focuses on a rigorous, project-based curriculum in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to develop students' ability to collaborate, think creatively, communicate effectively, and to work independently to solve problems while introducing them to the engineering field. Students also compete annually in robotics contests and have won State competitions and have received several World bids.

Entrepreneurship

Three-year program

The Entrepreneurship program is designed to bridge real-world business trends with foundational principles and methods that are commensurate with the industry. This robust curriculum prepares students for college courses and the business world at large. Students demonstrate their personal growth and entrepreneurial mind through the design and development of their own business venture which is presented at Westminster's Entrepreneurial Showcase.

Mass Media

Three-year program

The Mass Media program explores the methodologies of journalism, broadcasting, public relations and marketing research. Courses explore the importance and practice of responsible, professional and ethical communication in a digital age, while infusing the latest advancements in the industry.

Science Research

Three-year program

The award-winning Science Research Program is intended for high school students who are highly self-motivated, curious, and scientifically minded. Its purpose is to provide an opportunity for students to engage in science as a process, become innovators, develop communication skills, work with scientific mentors, and participate in competitions.

As a part of the program, students will develop skills necessary to be successful in scientific research, be able to identify good experimental design from poor ones, and become aware of the need for scientific advancement for the good of mankind.

The program has sent over 40 students to the State Science Fair and 11 to the International Science and Engineering Fair.
